First the Apple iPhone created a new model for the delivery of services to mobile phone devices, now Google is about to add another mobile device model:
he company is expected to hold a press conference on Monday to unveil the project, which is expected to incorporate software from the Linux world into a mobile platform code-named Android that's designed to run on phones, according to sources familiar with Google's plans. A software development kit for what's being called "a complete mobile-phone software stack" is believed to be in the works and will be released relatively soon thereafter, the sources said. It's not exactly clear what kind of software will come as part of that stack, but it's said to include everything you need to run a phone.
Google intends to build a standard from which other manufacturers can use to open up mobile application framework bringing badly needed structure to mobile application development. Unlike Microsoft who have used their corporate presence to drive business handsets, Google intends to use their online presence to build a consumer oriented platform.
Look to see companies like Facebook, Myspace, Youtube and others to join to build the first true web 2.0 structure for mobile devices.
