I think that's roughly when IANA runs out, the RIRs will distribute their space after that. Depending on global policy making, some RIRs will run out of their pools in a few months, some may have space to give out for a few years.

If greedy Americans could learn to share, maybe IPv4 address space would last a bit longer.

why not directly switch to IPV8. if we do so,this same situation would not occur for atleast 50yrs or so. and this according to me will be carried out in approx same budget!!

i dont see the whole shenanigan about ipv4 and 6 why cant the IETF just make the two protocol versions compatible so that every one retains his/her ip and new ip's be made ipv6
