Cisco VoIP nemesis Digium Asterisk tapping into projected 35 million VoIP small business line growth over next 3 years

Digium Names New North America Distribution Partner - Interlink Communications Systems

Cisco IP telephony competitor Digium Asterisk has announced that independent value added distribution powerhouse - Interlink Communication Systems, will deliver its open source telephony platform to value added resellers, network service providers and system integrators throughout North America.

Scott Eudy"The VoIP juggernaut continues to move from the early large enterprise adopters into small to mid-size business (SMB) penetration due in large part to the low-cost, feature rich solutions like those provided by Digium," said Scott Eudy - vice president business development at Interlink Communication Systems.

"The Wall Street Journal published an article back in August titled Small Firms Sign Up for Internet Calling – there has been a clear shift in how and where VoIP technology is being fully leveraged, and the Digium|Asterisk solution equips our partners to deliver a robust, cost effective voice solution to their customers."

Turning Up the VolumeThat same article showed the Dell’Oro Group chart featured to your right, which predicts that VoIP small business line growth will increase by over 35 million in the next three years.

Currently, of the 47.1 million Internet phone lines deployed by businesses world-wide, just 11 million are in small businesses.

Dell’Oro Group predicts that will increase to 46 million small businesses by 2010, especially because Internet phone service can save companies hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.

The Digium VoIP solutions include the Asterisk Appliance with the Asterisk Business Edition Software and the AsteriskGUI -- all aimed at delivering on the promise of cost-effective, highly reliable and easily deployed VoIP for the SMB.

"We developed and recently introduced the new Asterisk Appliance (AA50) IP-PBX for the SMB and remote branch offices of larger organizations, including the AsteriskGUI to make the configuration, management, and fine tuning very user friendly," said Bill Miller - vice president of product marketing at Digium.

Interlink Named to VARBusiness.com's Top Distributors of 2006 List"Digium is pleased to welcome Interlink to our distribution channel as we expand our presence into the small business market."

Interlink has created new Inside Channel Account Manager positions for those sales professionals wishing to capitalize on the exciting open source telephony software revolution.
