RE: Antispam group and lack of offical followup

It is a shame that once a scam operators web site has been identified the Police do not take over and go for a conviction.

Both stealing identities and selling bogus goods are wrong and against the law. Unfortunately the FBI and Police are busy chasing the ghosts of terrorists instead of fighting economic crimes.

Just shutting down the web site does not prevent the progression of the crime. Web sites are cheep, or free and it's just so easy to create a new one and upload the web site that was taken down.

The key would be to have our police run a transaction through and prosecute, both for what ever the fraud was and with a second count for using a spammer to promote their fraud.
