Juniper beats Cisco's gains in carrier Ethernet router market

Juniper and Cisco continue to tussle it out in the global router and switch market. According to Synergy Research Group, Juniper increased its share of the global carrier Ethernet router market by 1.7% in the third quarter, compared to just 0.6% for Cisco.

Cisco still retains its lead in the global router and switch market with a 66.1% share, boasting third-quarter revenue of just over $2 billion, reports Datamation.

Juniper is also seeing gains in the core switch market where it increased its market share by 16%.
