What possessed Cisco to hire Padmasree Warrior, former CTO at struggling Motorola as its CTO? That's the question Cisco Subnet blogger Brad Reese is asking (and readers responding to) in a blog post. Motorola is hardly a shining example of a company that is doing wonders at the moment, as it is booting its CEO amid falling sales and profit. Is it any wonder that Warrior resigned on Monday? So why would Cisco be interested in Warrior? Perhaps because she boasts leadership experience in the semiconductor and energy systems and has also worked in software, services and applications. Also, she's from India, where Cisco is investing heavily.
