Never-ending toll increases apparently aren't enough: The Massachusetts Turnpike Authority now says it intends to bleed an additional $600,000 out of me and my fellow beleaguered motorists using radar.
A 2008 budget plan projects $600,000 more in revenue through additional state police radar enforcement. That means more tickets for speeding drivers.
No pretense. No mention of public-safety imperatives. No mercy. Just a bare-knuckled cash grab.
In New York this kind of thing turned out to be just a rumor ... or so it seems.
We aren't going to be so lucky.
