Is Cisco Chief Development Officer Charlie Giancarlo about the fly the Cisco nest? That's the question that eWeek is asking following Cisco's reorgnization of its development group last
week, and the replacement of his usual fireside chat at the recent Cisco C-Scape conference.
EWeek quotes Dave Passmore, a consultant with The Burton Group: "He presented a minimal amount—not as much as you'd expect of someone who's perceived as the heir apparent to John Chambers [...] I didn't see him floating around as much. Usually he's a lot more visible at the conference."
I'm finding it hard to understand the logic that Giancarlo would want to leave Cisco now that his new Cisco Development Group is responsible for the entire Cisco product line now and in the future. And so what that his fireside chat had to be replaced?
Or is eWeek on to something?
