If you're reading this, you're probably working this Dead Week as well – the time between Christmas and New Years. I call us the “Short Straw People” because we drew the short straw and had to keep working when everyone else plays with their new toys at home.
On one hand, tech people can get a lot done without users around to bother them and get in the way. On the other hand, you're working and they're not.
If you have a project to work on, such as server updates or replacements or applications to roll out, this Dead Week may be fine. If not, don't give in to temptation and replace the sugar in the break room for all the coffee drinkers with salt. That would be unprofessional. Funny, but unprofessional.
PS – don't forget about the sugar and ruin your own coffee.
