Apple Touch Reaches Out and Touches Someone!

To ring in the 2008 new year, three French developers are releasing a hack for the Apple iPod Touch, enabling it to make VoIP calls. My assumption is they've added the SIP protocol stack to the touch and are using the WiFi capabilities to make VoIP calls.

Will Apple stand for this, or turn back the French dudes at the door this time bricking Touch devices? Not so fast, Quickdraw. No ATT contracts like the iPhone to get in the way.

Look for a new tagline: Let your Apple iPod Touch reach out and touch someone!
