RE: Election (including security) madness

With the number and complexity of problems with voting machines there are no quick and easy solutions. There is a slow, painstaking but ultimately trustworthy solution however: paper ballots, hand counting and cross-checking provide the greatest prospect for restoring faith in our elections. This non-technical solution can also be put to use in time for the November presidential election, if there is a will to do so. Elections, after all is said and done, are not really about computers and technology. Elections are about the inalienable right to self governance. We can count the votes, and we should be planning on doing just that by this November. Anything less is tragic.
