RE: Three predictions for identity management in 2008

Interesting perspective. I agree with your thoughts on M&A activity. It will continue to drive the competition's ability to stay afloat in this market. As well federation is key to building a stronger market share. I was wondering what are your thoughts on the private sector's ability to entrench the IAM market. It is evident in the research that most of the top players are HW/SW vendors and not necessarily system integrators. Do you have thoughts on the SIs getting more involved and do you feel that they would need to have more M&A with the HW/SW to gain market share. If so which SIs do you think have a leg up already?

SIs and IdM

The SIs are going to be doing the grunt work on IdM projects for quite some time to come. They're in a good position to handmake best-of-breed solutions that fit precisely with an organization's needs. The vendors need the SIs almost as much as the endusers do, also - it's a good time to be in the SI business...
