In this case it's not so much the message as the messenger. There are plenty of good reasons to oppose Microsoft';s $44 billion bid for Yahoo. Coming from Google, though, they sound like so much self-serving blather.

Of course, they are probably self-serving, but did you consider the possibility that they're actually covering their asses? With only two players in the marketplace, they'll have even more market power, so ad prices will be higher. So maybe they want the deal to go through, but just can't show it.
