Thursday's news of a charge placed by Canadian authorities on two individuals and Network IT, accused of attempting to shift $2 million in counterfeit Cisco goods is part of a larger operation that netted $76 million in fake Cisco gear. An international taskforce made up of the FBI, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, US Customs and Border Protection, and the  Royal Canadian Mounted Police, said it had seized 400 fake Cisco hardware that was being trafficked between the United States, Canada and China. The initiative targeted the illegal importation and sale of counterfeit network hardware, in particular network routers, switches, network cards and modules manufactured by Cisco.
