The market can breathe a sigh of relief - Cisco chief John Chambers says he's now more comfortable with the network giant's long-term growth prospects, according to a story on Bloomberg.com. When Cisco reported its fiscal second-quarter results last month, Chambers described the business outlook as "extremely challenging," a remark that sparked gloom on Wall Street and sent many bloggers lamenting that we are indeed headed toward a recession. But on March 4, as Cisco unveiled its ASR 1000 router, Chambers told investors at the Morgan Stanley Technology Conference in Dana Point, Calif.: "I'm more comfortable with 12% to 17% long- term growth than I was a month or two ago.'' Chambers said he expects Cisco to continue to be aggressive in the acquisition market.
