Why can't we simply let nature take it's course? We don't NEED women in IT, but if some choose that path GREAT! If not in large numbers, or not as talented as their male counterparts - SO WHAT? Men are not as talented (nor do we want to be) in more traditional feminine tasks - is that an issue as well.....I'm sure it is. This idea of enticing females into a male dominated work environment "just because" is ridiculous - Grow up!

Privileged Class
I find it disturbing that Cisco is rewarding their managers for hiring women and then sending them to special training. Are we creating a privileged class? If this was done for men, it would be vehemently attacked for what it is sexism. There would be law suits, and the company would be in serious trouble. Let's try being fair instead of instituting programs that encourage women to enter fields that someone else has deemed necessary for them. Let's try letting women and men decide for themselves what they want to do.

There are organizations that support the increase of women's participation in IT, such as the National Center for Women in IT (http://www.ncwit.org/).
