While interesting - it is more hype than fact

The whole idea of communication with a pacemaker requires less than 4 inches between the pacemaker and the programmer. This needlessly terrifies patients with these devices - for what?

Is there any technological idea these days that doesn't get better with time?

Yeah, don't put off that pacemaker, but yeah, device makers should be looking into this more. Bruce Schneier discusses this (of course).

It's not like that! I need to be within 4 inches of the person, know what model the icd was, whose it was, know what variables to change. There's a lot that is not discussed in this. - more bogus news that you can't use
