And we should protect ourselve how?

Telling us that there's a major problem but not giving us any information on how to prevent it is simply dishing out FUD.

If you really believe that your readership is network and security professionals, then why note tell us the site or domain or IP address in China that is in these redirect so that we might block that location at our firewalls. not only would this protect us but it would help mitigate the problem for the entire Internet.

Shame on you, NetworkWorld for playing the AV Vendor fear mongering game.

Dear Mr/Mrs Anonymous,

As a friendly, little piece of advise, so you might not make yourself look quite the idiot in the future... read the articles you are commenting on before commenting. Obviously you either skim read, not paying attention to the content and context of the entire story, or can't retain what you read. NW does tell what we should do to protect ourselves. The article tells how, on the end users machines, at whom this is obviously intended, the code exploits flaws for which there are ALREADY patches, and all we need to do is keep our software up to date with those patches.

Bob (not anon)
