trixbox vs. Cisco: Enticing Cisco SMB channel partners to change their allegiance to trixbox

trixbox vs. Cisco

Recently, a Texas based Cisco Premier Certified Partner - Thomas Technologies, changed their allegiance to Cisco competitor - trixbox, in order to better serve their small business IP telephony customers.

Chris Vuillaume"We’re increasingly working with resellers who are walking away from their established vendor relationships in order to offer products that are tailored for their small and mid-size customers," said Chris Vuillaume - Vice President of Business Development and Channel at trixbox.

"Thomas is committed to delivering the best possible solutions to their customers and we’re proud to be working with them."

Vuillaume lists four main reasons for the success trixbox has been experiencing when targeting the allegiance of Cisco SMB channel partners:

1. "Cisco voice solutions are too expensive, too complex to deploy and too feature-lean for small businesses."
2. "Cisco has a really hard time going after the S in the SMB."

"Cisco voice and data resellers are joining the Fonality trixbox reseller program to realize greater margins, less competition in their local markets, and a product designed for an IP-savvy channel."

3. "Cisco is a huge company – and it has not been effective in supporting resellers addressing the SMB market."

"Cisco continues to over-saturate territories with small and BIG Gold partners."

4. "Fonality is committed exclusively to the SMB and has designed a very disruptive solution that resellers can more easily sell to the SMB market combined with their own networking services."

Thomas Technologies is one of many resellers looking at alternative vendors to meet the voice and data networking needs of small and medium-sized businesses.

trixbox meets the needs of these resellers by providing what Cisco, Nortel and Avaya cannot:

New products designed and priced specifically for smaller companies and delivering the same value, at 40 to 80 percent less the cost.

trixbox Pro is a business phone system that allows companies with up to 500 employees per location to scale from a single-site business with basic telephony needs, up to multinational corporations with distributed call centers.

In addition to traditional PSTN dialing and PBX features, trixbox Pro also includes conference calling, unified messaging between voicemail and email, employee presence management, an embedded corporate chat server, advanced call center features and the ability to integrate with Microsoft Outlook and Salesforce.com.

trixbox Pro is a hybrid-hosted phone system, which means the software is downloaded and installed on a local computer that connects to the Fonality network where server health, call quality and usage are constantly monitored.

The hybrid-hosted nature of trixbox Pro also securely extends the phone system outside the corporate firewall, so an employee’s extension can follow them when they work from home, remotely on a laptop, or even on a mobile phone.

Cisco is a brilliant company, why can't they properly address this SMB market opportunity?
