Cisco's unified communications platform is ready for military action

Military and government secure voice and networking supplier, PacStar, has added its software to Cisco's unified communications platform to meet the demands of military use, according to a report by TelecomWeb. The addition of PacStar's IQ-Core software enables users to connect directly to the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN), eliminating the cumbersome two-step analog to IP networks process, according to TelecomWeb. The supplier says it's the first time Cisco-based "Everything Over IP" (EoIP) is available to US military customers.
