The lost memo of a missing Cisco sales trainee found in Galactica

Bet you never knew that Cisco's sales network reaches far and wide - all the way to Galactica, actually. As the Sci-Fi Network series Battlestar Galactica begins its fourth and final season on Friday, April 4, Network World has obtained a memo written by a Cisco sales trainee of his attempt to sell an upgrade network to Galactica senior officials. What happened when Cisco trainee J. Cox met Commander William Adama, and other ship officers, just a few months before the start of the Second Cylon War? All is revealed here.

As someone pointed out to me, at the time when this meeting is supposed to have taken place, Adama had the rank of Commander, not Admiral.

Battlestar Wiki is admirably thorough, but I wasn't: the error is entirely mine.

I'm hoping to get an online change made to the piece as soon as possible

Space/Time inconsistancy

Technically Cisco could not have been involved in this deal; earth was separate and isolated from the 12 colonies and since Cisco is an earth corporation it seems a little unlikely that they would have been able to bid for a deal on one of the colonies.

The PIX is dead

The Cisco PIX has been replaced by the ASA already.

I would have enjoyed that story a lot more if you had just shot the Cisco sales person. They are all Cylons after all.

No, if you follow the story, all 12 colonies were descendants of the ancient planet. Later in the series it is reviled that this planet is called Earth. While Earth might have been forgotten, Cisco could have been newly formed when people went to search for new planets to occupy. Chambers would be one of the guys on the ship I'm sure.

A nice tension breaker....While I'm more of the "Lost" clan & would have related to the Dharma initiative more, Battlestar Gallatica is the best example of where Cisco can help. Time to send in reinforcements. Never quit! Some how I think this may resurface at a Cisco event.

This article was amusing for about 2 seconds. I feel sorry for the writer that he had nothing better to do with his time.
