Are you paying attention to what Congress is doing to your job? As they work on tripling the H-1B visa cap they're hoping you're not.
A story at CIO.com on March 14th discussed a newly introduced bill before the U.S. House of Representatives, HR 5630, which proposed to double the cap on H-1B visas available for foreign tech workers from 65,000 to 130,000. This bill, (complete text of the bill), was introduced on March 13th.
What the article didn't report was that the following day, bill HR 5642 was introduced that proposed to not double, but triple the cap. HR 5642, (complete text of the bill), proposes to triple the cap on H-1B visas from 65,000 to 195,000. Apparently the bill's sponsor Rep. Lamar Smith wanted to prove everything really is bigger in Texas.
