It is amazing how companies do not want to really make progress. They try to avoid hiring people that are really interested in moving the business forward in favor of a checklist.

My guess is that talent acquisition holds back many companies; and the top level execs are unaware that HR is strangling the entire process.

Look for talent; not a checklist! Have someone knowledgeable about the work do the screening; it takes time but will find you much better people to join the team.

Tell me about it. I can do all business analysis QA testing skills and be turned down because Idon't have experience in ver x of some software. For most people if you have 70%-80% of the job that should be enough. Just because a person can push buttons does not mean that they can test the software or write requirements.

Lets not forget people who do nothing and wait weeks on end to get back to you
