I would add to your reasons list, that some Admins (CCNAs) like to "tinker" with the devices themselves just like they do their cars, and prefer not to embrace CMDBs and automation. Their personalities are classic DIYs ("do it yourself").
Others embrace any automation they can trust, also like the Toyota/Lexus experience of turnkey automobile ownership. They realize that CMDBs and associated automation tools make their lives easier so they can spend more time on interesting projects and personal time (vs. late night interruptions).
It will be interesting to see how your research with these and other customers uncovers how many "tinkers" and Toyota owners there are. My guess is we'll keep seeing more Toyota/Lexus buyers...
