Why single Microsoft out for an easily crackable CAPTCHA? So researchers find Microsoft's CAPTCHA for the Live Mail service is vulnerable to relatively simple attacks. While some CAPTCHAs might work better than others, it is the nature of the beast that the harder they are to thwart, the harder they are to use. Microsoft researchers are doing some cool research in the area though -- trying to create a visual CAPTCHA. This would use pictures that are easy for humans to identify but hard for computers to break.
