God, am I disappointed. The entrenched monopolies (Comcast, Time Warner and BrightHouse) have effective killed any "third pipe". There will be NO incentive for them to reduce their prices, now that they have decided to extend their "walled gardens" into the wireless domain. Big Corps 1; consumers "screwed".

It's all going IP, or hadn't you noticed?
re:"Gartner analyst Phil Redman says because WiMAX is a data-only technology that can only transmit voice services over IP, it will have limited market appeal for users who want all-in-one 4G devices.
At the end of the day, there will be wired and wireless ISPs. And there will be two types of wireless ISPs: fixed and mobile.
Voice and video are just two datatypes that those ISPs will have to support.
That's the very scary reality all the carriers have to face.
