Initially, EMC considered its Enterprise Flash Drive for super high-end, transaction-heavy applications. But early interest in the product has proven the company wrong -- enterprises are considering EFD for many different applications, even those as seemingly mundane (but oftentimes considered mission-critical) as Exchange.
