One of the unintended consequences of the marketing failure of Vista is that XP will soon become a big black market item, it seems. In actuality, there are many ways to
continue to legally get XP after the June 30 cut-off date. But that won't stop the pirates. Today Microsoft began to clamp down by charging 21 resellers.
The story from IDG News Service reports that most of the lawsuits concern Windows XP and/or consumer versions of Office. "Only two suits alleged piracy of an enterprise version of the software and Windows Vista was not the subject of an allegation in any filing, according to information from Microsoft." No one wants Vista it seems, even the pirates. (Imagine sad-sounding hound dog howl here.)
