Yahoo needs to do something to survive as a stand alone company. Jerry Yang has already gone out and provided growth and financial guidance for the next few years. I'm not sure a deal with Google gets him there. They will need to most likely grow with acquisitions but need lots of cash. The FTC will be a drag on this deal getting done.
