I promise I'll get to the next post on IPv6 Wednesday sometime. It's been unusually hectic of late, as opposed to normally hectic. But before I whine any more, on to the non-technical purpose of today's blog entry: if you're at Networkers next week, you'll see lots of giveaways from Cisco Press at the bookstore - and this blog is the only place we're announcing one of the giveaways.
Here's the deal. You get a bunch of books if you win (somewhere more than 1, but less than 10, TBD). To enter, you have to stop by the bookstore between 3-4PM local on Tuesday, June 24th, to enter the drawing. All you have to do to enter is say to me (or someone nearby that look like they work there) "I read Wendell's Network World blog" or somesuch, and put your contact info on a list (in case you win).
So, what's the point? Why do this at all? Well, I have a couple of reasons. First, I wanted to take some time to get to meet folks who're connected to our blog (it seems weird to say "my blog", since I only start the threads), say hi, put faces with names in some cases. I knew that Cisco Press would do their usual generous thing and ante' up some prizes (aka books). And I was curious how much of a cross-section of people who read this blog also happen to be going to Networkers - so to get any kind of a real count, I'm bribing you by doing the give away. But the real reason is that I think it'd be fun to meet some of you in person.
By the way, if you're at Networkers and can't make it to the bookstore, or it gets too crowded at that hour (it's between sessions, so it'll be crowded for sure), here's where else I'll be "officially" - feel free to stop by and say hi:
