ABI is public relations for hire

ABI is well-known for their biased surveys. Any company can pay ABI to "perform an analysis" and come up with results that make that company look favorable. This is evident here yet again, where Meru is ranked at the top for the "channel management" technology, when Meru's 802.11n AP doesn't even support their Virtual Cell RF management technology.

Since Meru commissioned this study, I'm ignoring the information about them, and paying attention to how ABI ranked the other companies, as they did not pay for their rankings. It's interesting that Aruba was ranked co-number 1 with Meru...

ABI is not the only one that has rated Aruba high

ABI maybe biased but I have seen a number of other reports with similiar results for Aruba. We are happy that we went with Aruba.

Setting facts straight

Please don't mis-state the facts: the ABI report was not commissioned by Meru or any other vendor. Vendors don't know where they'll place until the Vendor Matrix is released. Vendors who place well often ask for reprint rights, which is common practice whether the researcher is ABI, Gartner, Forrester, etc., so it's possible that one or more of the vendors that was ranked favorably is running a copy of the matrix on their Web site and/or distributing it. But please don't mistake that for their having underwritten the study.

Just wanted to clarify that I (Joanie) wrote the "Setting the facts straight" comment. For some reason, the system didn't pick up my name and referred to me as the dreaded "Anonymous." :-)
