Society turning into cartoon characters
So that is what our society is becoming, eh? Rather than deal with one another face-to-face, we become cartoons in the social world, virtual people, rather than come out of our shells and socialize one-on-one. Pitiful, really.

you can't understand how it could be so rewarding. I'd made friends with people in SL who were unable to walk but could FLY and more in SL.
If Google can make this work, taking the best of SL (content creation) and scale it properly, this is the next big thing. SL just made a test with IBM where they can move avatars from one virtual world to another.
Those that have open minds will find this coming virtual world explosion will be similar to what the browser did for user adaption to the internet.
Alpha version for sure
I just installed it and ran it in Firefox. About 1000 error-dialogues started popping up. I had to use my taskmanager to kill the application.
I might try it again once Google releases the 'stable' version ;-)
So no Linux, no Mac?
Microsoft isn't the only horse in this rodeo, surprising they didn't try to build something that was more platform agnostic. What about Mac? Linux? iPhone?
