The Husband Did It

Unfortunate

0

As much as I feel that Ms. Kroll was in some way responsible, having her computer set with her email as the default, it's truly unfortunate that she is being punished for her husband's actions. I am an atheist and I support Myers right to freedom of expression, but I know that many (if not most) of the posters on his blog didn't wish for someone relatively innocent to get hurt.

Death threats, whether bluster or truly threatening are no laughing matter, I wish it hadn't caused collateral damage however. I wish Melanie well - good luck.

I don't believe you. I think you and PZ's zombies are laughing their asses off!

That is why he made it public.

Publicity.

PZ made it clear on his blog the reasoning behind posting these threatening emails. He also posted a disclaimer that he reserved the right to and WOULD post identifying information if he received threats to his personal safety. He spelled it out clearly when he made the decision and again when he asked people to stop replying to the threats.

PZ does not need to resort to childish games to get publicity. He relies on his hard work, intensity and intelligence. If only more people would.

pz relies on hard work. yes it is such hard working promoting the sesecration of the peoples churches.
The poor thing. I'm sure he will have plenty of time to rest up after the university gives him his walking papers this week. I understand that the state and university are being put under tremendous pressure from Catholics nationwide. maybe he can be a free lance hater then?

Stupid, stupid catholics

Fuck you and your retarded ass "religion."

Not true. University policy

Not true. University policy requires immediate reporting of such e-mails.

www.douglasdispatch.com/news has a worse example. In Cochise County AZ someone made derogatory comments on a campagin blog about the sheriff while claiming to be a sheriff employee. The writer used a real employee's initials and personal email address. Imagine the problems for the innocent employee, not to mention the sheriff and his opponent. The blog allows anonymous so no way of ever tracking who really did it.

Anonymity

I guess you don't understand IP logs and such. Because you cannot be truly anonymous on the internet. How do you think your ISP is able to know you were downloading KUNG FU PANDA FROM A TORRENT and sent you a certified letter to the effect?

Given the current political and legal climate, I don't see that

Given the current political and legal climate, I don't see that her employer had much choice in the matter. I also feel, however, that it has to be one of the worst (ie. unfortunate, unjust, etc) ways in which to lose your job. She has my sympathy..
