In Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) environments, the traceroute command behaves differently than in non-MPLS environments.
The MPLS traceroute command works slightly differently from the normal traceroute command because the routers running MPLS exchange labels to make forwarding decisions instead of IP routing information.
