A traditional desktop consumes 250 watts, ey? Some of that becomes heat, as we all know. What becomes of the rest of that power? Is it all doing mechanical things, like turning fans and hard drive platters? And how does a CPU turn electricity into heat? It can't be all just ohmic heating, with those tiny voltages and all.
