Great mix of products (and size of companies. I'm curious as to what the criteria is to be included among the products of the week or month. Gut impression based on the press release? Familiarity with the product? Previous versions reviewed? The wow factor? If two competitors announce products the same week?

Criteria used
Criteria is pretty loose. We've only been doing this for a couple of months, so still feeling our way through it a bit. We're basically looking to highlight a mix of product types, both from big name companies where we might be doing a full-blown writeup of the product, startups that have innovative new offerings, and in-between companies that just have something new. We're more likely to highlight brand new products than incremental updates, though will really depend on the week/month and the flow of new products that week/month. Companies interested in having their products considered for the slideshow should contact the reporter here that covers that beat.
