Nortel gets the nod for London 2012

A real "human network" has to be more than well advertised video conferencing.

It needs to be secure, highly reliable, adaptable, and capable of transporting massive amounts of real-time information. It has to be open-standards since despite what some vendors think, no one company can offer everything needed for a truly comprehensive advanced technology environment.

It needs to bridge the gap between traditionally carrier and Enterprise systems in order to cover the expanses of an entire country while engaging the entire planet.

There is nothing of higher true human interest than the Olympic games.

This morning, LOCOG (The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games) recognized Nortel as both a Tier 1 sponsor and the official network infrastructure partner of the London 2012 games.

In addition, Nortel is recognized as the fourth sustainability partner for the London Olympics.

This isn't Nortel's first time creating an Olympics-scale network architecture either.

Nortel is a top Enterprise and carrier technology supplier and UC & services leader. In addition, its data portfolio consumes 40% less energy than its closest competitor. These facts position them perfectly to deliver the infrastructure requirements while meeting the sustainability goals to make London 2012 a stunning success.
