Social networking for business

Great article here. I work for a website that does professional networking (konnects.com), so I have first hand experience with many of these issues.

I like how you brought up the point about the actual business benefits of social networking. It is true that at this point in the game, it can be difficult to assign a dollar amount to the success of a social network for your enterprise.

Your article also talked about the social/personal side creeping into business. That is a major concern that more people should have. I use a business network for professional things and a social network for my friends. It keeps things separate and defined. In the next few years, one of the things about the internet that will have to be tackled is definition of scope.
