Cisco execs deny directing Patent Troll Tracker blog

Cisco's former PR manager, along with the company's VP of worldwide intellectual property denied directing the now-defunct and controversial patent troll blog. Former PR Cisco spokesperson, John Noh, along with Mallun Yen are being sued for defamation by Texas attorney Eric Albritton. According to Marketwatch, Albritton claims that the Patent Troll Tracker blog, which was authored by former Cisco IP Director Rick Frenkel, called his ethics into question.

Albritton accuses Noh, who left in May and is now a spokesperson for Brocade, of directing the blog. Noh and Yen said in court filings Monday that they were aware that a Cisco staffer was posting items on the blog but did not review the articles at issue prior to posting, and did not forward or circulate the articles, according to the Marketwatch news report.

Frenkel in February outed himself as author of the controversial blog amid 'threats'.  Frenkel has since left Cisco and is now working in the IP litigation practice of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
