More Info on Network World Test

When we ran the Network World test patterns, but with 24 drives like the other vendors tested, we found that we were beating virtually everybody on most tests, including Lefthand on the Web Server Test (we have clocked 340MB/s on that test with just 24 drives, while they had 36 drives). Tests designed to simulate “real-life” behavior are typically limited by the performance of the disk array, which directly depends on the number of disks; We were perhaps the only vendor who sent in the least amount of disks – 12 drives in a single tray. The fact that RELDATA scales so well with more drives shows the architectural advantage of the product enabling it effectively address large storage installations with hundreds of disk drives and many load generators without degradation. Recent hardware and software improvements have significantly improved performance even further compared to the product reviewed.

Network World tested Version 2.2 software and documentation that was originally supplied to them in March 2008. In the past 7 months we have dramatically improved ease of use and documentation, as represented by Version 2.3 of our software and documentation which has been shipping for months.

One of the core values of RELDATA Unified Storage System is a broad interoperability and co-existence with products by other storage vendors, specifically storage arrays. This allows us to offer such important features as non-disruptive cross-platform data migration, multi-vendor storage virtualization and replication of existing fibre channel storage via iSCSI.
