Flock of VMs

In his “Virtualization Report” blog, InfoWorld’s David Marshall discusses a new Xen project for creating clusters of virtual machines. Developers from the University of Toronto and Carnegie Mellon University presented the project earlier this year, Marshall reports. He cites team member Andres Lagar-Cavilla, who says Snowflock will enable the cloning of Xen VMs into dozens of replicas running in different hosts in near-real-time and with very low runtime overhead.
