As Cisco works to develop a consumer-grade telepresence system videoconferencing rival Tandberg has taken the wrapper off its $300,000 high-end telepresence system. While Tandberg's system offers much
the same as other high-end telepresence systems, such as Cisco TelePresence, Tandberg's Telepresence T-3 enables users to show all participants from standard and HD equipped sites equal sized stacked up like Hollywood Squares. This from Network World Tim Greene's story: Other vendors’ gear can do some of these, but not all. “Everyone has a preference, and Tandberg lets you choose your compromise,” Weinstein says. The server can integrate images from legacy videoconferncing systems - not just telepresence systems - and that is something no other vendor can do, he says.
