If you're wondering whether the pay is better for CCIEs elsewhere in the world, here's an interesting
snippet about CCIE salaries in the United Kingdom, as reported on ITJobsWatch (via CiscoTips). CCIEs in the United Kingdom enjoy an average salary of 55,000 GBP (about $96,000), but that's a decrease of 4.28% in the same period last year. According to some of the CCIE jobs advertised on ITJobsWatch, successful applicants can expect compensation that includes a salary of 60,000 GBP, a company car/allowance, bonus and benefits.
How does that compare with CCIE salaries in your neck of the woods?

Not quite true, most of these jobs are reseller fishing for CCIE
I have just changed roles, and am familiar with a lot of these roles. Most of them are second tier Cisco resellers looking to pick a CCIE on the cheap or are the smaller and less experienced agencies hoping to make a placement.
As the number of roles has reduced slightly, the biggest Cisco-specialist recruiters don't need to advertise they are usng their existing lists of CCIEs who are known to them. There is not that many of us in the UK and they have a pretty good idea of who we are.
As a result, the job ads are for the lesser positions and don't reflect the actual market. This brings the price down.
If there any CCIE out there, don't discount yourself there is plenty of opportunities and roles.
