CCIE water cooler gossip: USA tops in October worldwide CCIE count

What a difference a month can make. For example, just last month 100% of the world's CCIE growth occurred outside the USA. However this month the red, white and blue came out on top by capturing 21% of the growth with 51 CCIEs: 5,076 - 5,025
Comparing October 2008 vs. September 2008, the CCIE count increased 244: 18,084 - 17,840
Canada grew by 10 while Mexico added 3 CCIEs.
Once more the regional champ, the Pacific Rim grew the most, 48% with 118 CCIEs: 7,042 - 6,924
India grew by 30 CCIEs claiming 12% of total growth: 472 - 442
Showing strong results, China plus Hong Kong grew by 35 CCIEs claiming 14% of total growth: 3,041 - 3,008
Adding 28 CCIEs for 11%, Korea will soon pass Japan (only 2 new CCIEs) in total number of CCIEs.
While the Middle East grew by 10 CCIEs for 4% of the total: 453 - 443
Furthermore, Europe grew by 30 CCIEs for 12% of the total: 4,052 - 4,022
