Any network infrastructure or voice environment of any scale requires an adaptable network monitoring environment to proactively keep tabs on the system. Potential problems and outages can be identified and recognized earlier with the appropriate monitoring environment.
Yesterday, GroundWork released Network Management Suite 2.1, a new version of NMS that introduces new features, including "single sign-on, simplified installation, consolidated monitoring data and comprehensive online user documentation integrated with GroundWork Monitor."
One of the major benefits of the GroundWork suite has been significant cost savings over competitors, especially the "big four" vendors. I recently wrote an article titled "GroundWork's Silver Bullet: 87% Cost Savings Over HP" which describes some of the significant cost savings possible.
In addition, the NMS 2.1 release takes advantage of the very popular Cacti project for graphical analysis: “We are always pleased when individuals and companies expand upon the Cacti project,” said Ian Berry, lead developer and creator of Cacti. “GroundWork has generously reached out to partner with our project team and integrate Cacti’s technology into its network management suite, providing a comprehensive and supported solution our shared customers.”
To complement the new release, GroundWork offers a two-day NMS training course from GroundWork University.
