The third annual Apdex Symposium will be held December 9th in conjunctions with the CMG conference in Las Vegas. The program will include results of a user survey. You can provide input to the Apdex cause by filling out the survey which will enter you into a drawing for an Apple iPod Touch along with three chances to win a $100 Amazon gift certificate.
This year's Apdex Symposium program will have practical how-to sessions backed by many case studies. It is a one-day conference-in-a-conference. If you are responsible for application or infrastructure performance then you should seriously consider attending CMG2008 along with the Apdex Symposium. Here are some of the Symposium program highlights.
Peter Sevcik will present a model that integrates all aspects of performance management (PM) into a single business-linked approach. Drawing on shared experiences of 600+ enterprises, Peter will describe how to weave people, processes, and products together to deliver world-class performance. He also shows how Apdex contributes to achieving high PM benchmark scores.
There will be an interesting session describing how to make Apdex work in your company. It will outline the steps needed to implement Apdex reporting and how to make it a vital part of your APM strategy. This session will show how the managers of a major internet website applied the methodology.
There will be two sessions that present case studies. We will hear implementation stories with examples from: an automobile company, food company, municipal government, e-commerce company, SaaS company, and more.
The Symposium will also have a session where speakers present ideas on improving the Apdex standard. The alliance will use the content of this session to move forward with changes to the Apdex standard so that it is easier to apply the method to more scenarios and broaden the benefit to enterprises.

CMG2008 Conference and the Apdex Symposium
Apdex Symposium attendance included in your CMG2008 registration. You should view the Symposium as one of the tracks of the CMG conference. The conference runs for several days. The Apdex "track" is only on December 9th. Please sign up for CMG2008 and then come to the Apdex Symposium.
