By Jim Duffy on Mon, 12/01/08 - 5:51pm.

Cisco's cost-saving efforts continue as the networking giant is reported to have canceled some key meetings over the coming year. Corporate Meetings & Incentives is reporting that Cisco has scrapped plans for its annual Global Sales Meeting scheduled for August in San Francisco. (The online news source also reports that NetApp has also canceled a user conference that was scheduled to take place in the California city in February.) Meanwhile, ChannelWeb reports that Cisco canceled its Women's Leadership Forum, which was supposed to have taken place mid-November.

Cisco's is still holding its Partner Summit, which is due to take place in Boston between June 1 and June 4, reports ChannelWeb.

Last month, Cisco was reported to be scaling back plans to exhibit at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January.
