Holly Crap I Passed the CCDE!!!!

By michaeljmorris on Wed, 01/07/09 - 9:59am.

A couple days ago I wrote that I didn't know if I had passed the CCDE Practical exam. Others had got their letter right after Christmas, but mine was lost in the mail apparantely.

Well, the mail came today and I PASSED!!!! WHOOOO HOOOOO .... CCDE #20080002:

Photobucket

I thought I had failed since I looked on Cisco's certification website yesterday and it showed failed. But Scott Morris (thank you Scott) told me to ignore that since a couple others who passed also showed "failed" in the website.

Awesome!

More blogging later....back to work!!! :-)

That's a great news. We were all wondering WHO is that #2. I guess finally we know and the guessing game is over. Congrats again!

congratulations Michael!

Michael - that's awesome news! I spoke with Fred Weiller, director of marketing at Learning@Cisco about the beta and the future of the CCDE. I'm getting some facts checked at the moment and will write up a blog soon. Watch this space! -- Linda Leung, Cisco Subnet Editor

Michael,

Way to go. Drinks on you at the next Networker's party. ;-0

Two questions:

1) Did 20080001 finish the test faster than you?

2) How much time did you study? (I know it's hard to study for, but I'd be interested in the net time you did study.)

Kudos, way to go, fantastico! Well deserved.

Hey Wendell,

You know, I am wondering that too? How did Ryan Hicks get 2008::1 and I got 2008::2? Finish faster? Higher score? Coin flip? Whatever. ;-)

As for time to study, I couldn't say. It is a lot of service provider routing studying. MPLS, routing protocols, tunnels, etc. And honestly, you do need to have the experience and think like an engineer. Be able to plan steps. Understand contingent steps. How are things interrelated. Why or why not would you do something instead of just how like in the CCIE.

More to come in future blogs.

Mike
