Speculation
I am a loyal subscriber to Network World and I am greatly disappointed by the publishing of this article. The comments made by the analyst are vague and non-specific and does nothing more than generate unsubstantiated f.u.d in the market.
It's not Speculation
It's not speculation.
Take off the blinders.
Juniper just went through a series of meetings with HR and Senior Management last week and Line Management has been asked to rank their teams prior to a layoff.
Hopefully Juniper does better with this layoff than they did in 2002 when they let personnel go simply on their location and not on their merits.
Juniper has some strong product sets but has accumulated a large number of "B" and "C" players. (Particularly in their Enterprise Division) They are way overstaffed relative to Cisco and need to let some blood to maintain their targeted revenue per employee that Wall Street seems to desire.
5% Layoffs possible
Juniper will layoff 5% of it's workforce starting next month. Many of the cuts will be in their struggling Enterprise Division.
scare mongering
I agree.....an article based on speculation without comment is just scare mongering. Of course all the other vendors will jump in a fuel that fire.
The EX is a brand new product and a new category for Juniper...give it some time. We are witnessing the self destruction of Nortel, so room for another switch vendor.
The EX is a great product!
The EX is a great product! People will come around...
(Yes it is) Speculation
Bah - the negative comments smell of FUD.
I imagine we'll find out tomorrow how the Enterprise side of Juniper's biz is doing. And "way overstaffed relative to Cisco" would be pretty impressive given the size difference and JNPR's Revenue per Employee ranking!
I don't think it's coincidental that these were posted during the last days of CSCO's quarter.
Speculation
Anon... please comment:
How can you possibly know that Juniper are planning lay-offs?
Do you work at Juniper? If so, I'd expect you'd be the last to know if the axe was about to fall !!!
Give us some evidence this isn't just idle FUD
Call the Fed SEC insider information!!!
This is a seriously violation of the securities laws.
That's why these companies that invested in Juniper has an upper advantage of when to buy their stock and when to sell their stock. Seriously Crooks bunch of insider information. There's no way you could trust the market these days. It basic a scheme for these crooks who know these information to make money while, ordinary investors holds the bag.
Do juniper use the Ex product
