Ross Mistry, SQL MVP

I am a PC, I am a MVP and I love Windows 7

It sounds like I am drinking the MS cool aid huh?  I just returned from the Microsoft MVP Summit in Seattle and had a spectacular time.  There was approximately 1500 to 2000 MVPs from all over the world present at the summit.  As a SQL Server MVP, I had the opportunity to network with my SQL colleagues and attend sessions on what's new for SQL Server 11, what's new for Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7.  In addition, there was plenty of interactive sessions and round table discussions which allowed us to directly influence the feature sets of the new technologies.

My sweet spot is SQL Server 2008 High Availability on Windows Server 2008, specifically failover cluster.  I really enjoyed working with those teams.

Unfortunately, due to the NDA agreement I cannot blog about any of the new technologies or features observed at the summit.

I was very impressed with the keynote session on Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7.  The program manager got the whole crowd of a few thousand to say " I am a PC, I am a MVP and I love Windows 7"  Apparently, the crowd was no loud enough so Steve Ballmer ambushed the session and had us scream it at the top of our lungs.  I always enjoy Ballmer's keynotes as he is so enthusiastic and loud.  His session at the summit was very invigorating and inspirational.  I am looking forward to the new technologies coming down the pipeline next year.  Check the video I am a PC, I am a MVP and I love Windows 7... http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=59493295985

Cheers !!!
